So we’ve seen beauty trends come and go, from thin brows and blue eyeshadow to full coverage foundation and cut creases. But a look that will always be in is a timeless, natural and healthy look. Whether you want that Glossier look or you need quick and easy yet beautiful makeup to get out of the door in the morning, your end result depends on a few things – one of them being the products you choose.
We aren’t here to tell you how much we also love all the viral products that you’ve probably had recommended to you a million times, from major worldwide brands like Maybelline or Dior, but instead want to show our love to local Asian makeup brands. Even with the popularity of K-Beauty (Korean Beauty) on the rise, Asian based beauty brands still can be overshadowed by bigger brand names, but their products are just as amazing, and you will typically find them on the more affordable side.
How to Achieve a Natural Makeup Look
In this blog post, we’re going to leave a few tips on how to use the products to achieve a natural look. But all-in-all, there are a few things you can do to make your application more flawless. This could include:
- A good skin care routine. Starting out with a good canvas will make your application process a lot easier. Make sure your skin is hydrated and moisturized before starting.
- Try using a dampened beauty sponge. A sponge tends to help achieve a natural look as it won’t give you as much coverage as a brush and will give you a flawless blend.
- The key to a natural look is not overdoing it with your foundation and concealer. It’s best to start out with a thin layer and then build on top where coverage is needed.
What Order to Apply Makeup
There is no solid answer to this question, as there are a few different steps you could follow to achieve your final look and it all just comes down to personal preference. For example, some people like to start with a primer, whereas others prefer to not even use a primer. Sometimes you will find makeup artists who start with the base i.e. foundation and concealer, and then move onto doing your eye makeup.
On the other hand, you will also find makeup artists who will start with your eye makeup, but this is usually down to making it easier to clean up any eyeshadow fallout that may land on your already applied and blended base makeup. Play around, and the more you do your makeup, you will find out which method works for you!
However, to give you somewhere to start, we’ve listed these 5 products in an order you can follow for application – starting with your base. As we’re going for a more natural look, starting with your eye makeup is not a necessary step as it won’t be heavy or complicated.

1. MISSHA M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF42/PA+++50ml
Living in a hot and humid climate, for day to day use we recommend going for a light base. For a beautiful natural look, this Missha M Perfect Cover BB cream is great for your everyday base. The term ‘BB cream’ is short for either ‘beauty balm’ or ‘blemish balm’.
This will give you great coverage without feeling too heavy, and conceal any blemishes for an even base. It also acts as a skin tint and skin care in one, moisturizing and protecting your skin with SPF42. The Missha BB cream is affordable and available in seven shades that adapt to your skin tone over time.
TIP: BB creams are one product that is very easy to apply and blend out with your fingers – no brushes or beauty sponge needed! Try it if you’re in a rush.
2. Sivanna Colors Fine Waterproof Eyeliner Gel
A good gel liner is the perfect product for beginners and professionals as they are so easy and versatile to use. This range of gel liners from Sivanna Colors comes in all the basic colors you need – a beautiful white, dark brown, and of course, a deep black. The waterproof formula glides on smoothly (no tugging on your eyes!), blends easily, stays on all day, and won’t break the bank at only 189 THB.
TIP: You have so many options when it comes to applying eyeliner. For a natural look, apply it on your upper waterline, or you can apply it to your lash line and gently blend it out with a brush or your ring finger.
3. Browit Pro Slim Brow Pencil
This incredible range of products was made by a Thai makeup artist, Nongchat, and is one of Natalie Lorence’s favorites along with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. The difference? It won’t cost you almost 1,000 THB for one pencil. Actually, you can buy five of these for the price of one ABH Brow Wiz.
Available in five shades, you won’t miss out on perfectly matching your brow hairs. As suggested in the product name, the Browit eyebrow pencil has a fine tip which is perfect if you need to draw fine lines to flawlessly mimic any missing brow hairs.
TIP: Flick the pencil lightly in an upwards motion in the same direction of your hair growth for a natural filled in brow.
4. ARTY Professional Rose Color Blush On
To add some color back to your face for a healthy natural look, these blushes from local Thai brand ARTY Professional are a must try! Give yourself some natural peachy pink cheeks with this soft buttery formula that you will find is a dream to blend.
This blush formula has extracts of Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Macadamia Seed Oil which will help you achieve a gorgeous healthy glow as it acts as an extra layer of moisture. On top of all that, the packaging is adorable with a rose imprint in the powder, and who isn’t a sucker for cute packaging?!
TIP: If you aren’t ready to spend on multiple face products (blush, bronzer, contour, highlighter etc.), a great secret tip is that the right shade of blush can be multi-purpose! You can use it to double as eyeshadow and even a subtle contour.
5. 4U2 Mineral Tint Oil
Finally to finish off your look, 4U2 Cosmetics has a stunning range of mineral lip tint oils that will top off your fresh natural look and it’s super on trend. It comes in multiple shades so you won’t have trouble finding a color that suits you perfectly. The packaging has a doe foot applicator so it’s not messy to apply.
TIP: If you prefer a more opaque color for your lips, feel free to apply 2-3 layers of this product as it isn’t sticky and sits nicely. Apply just one layer or a thin coat for a subtle flush of color.
All the products we mentioned are tried and tested, and can very easily be found in Central and Robinson department stores as well as the cosmetics’ aisle in Boots, Watsons, and even Lotus’s, as well as online. Let us know if you decide to give any of them a try!
